Cunard Line

Classification: Premium to Luxury

Passenger/Space Ratio: 39

Website: www.cunard.com

Cunard Line Ship This prestigious British line began operations in 1840 when Sir Samuel Cunard, a Canadian pioneer of regular transatlantic navigation, formed a fleet of four ships to deliver mail between Liverpool, Halifax and Boston. Cunard, now owned by Carnival Corporation, operates two classic liners - QE II and the newly refitted Caronia, providing passengers with traditional elegance and a British ambiance. The level of service varies between premium and luxury on QE 2 and depends on the type of accommodation you book – which in turn determines which of the restaurants on the ship you will dine in.

Cunard will launch the largest passenger ship ever when the new 150,000-ton Queen Mary 2 hits the ways in 2003. The 23-storey-tall Queen Mary 2 will be the most costly ship every built with the estimated price tag at $780 million.

Officers are Norwegian and British, and crew are international.
