Northern Europe by Cruise Ship delayed until December
2009.
Throughout 2008 we were working feverishly on undating
both Alaska By Cruise Ship and Panama Canal By Cruise Ship and published
new editions during the year. In this time, our editor Anne Vipond was
assembling material for our newest travel cruise book Northern Europe
By Cruise Ship. The book was intended for release in May of 2009 but has
been delayed until December because of various changes and additions to
the content which will now include Paris and Berlin as well all ports
in the U.K. We apologise for the delay but think the improvements to the
book will be well worth the wait.
The sixth edition of Alaska By Cruise Ship was updated during 2008 with
new detail on ships and cruise lines and on ports. This new edition is
all color throughout with dozens of new color maps and hundreds of color
photographs with new details for independent travelers. The pullout map
at the back of the book has been completely updated with a new more detail
map with one side showing the inside passage and the other side showing
the Gulf of Alaska and continuing right up to Prudhoe Bay. The new ISBN
is: 978-0-9809573-0-3, retail price is $21.95.
Our new third edition of Panama Canal By Cruise Ship came out in late
2008 and has many changes for readers cruising to the exotic tropics of
Panama. Updates to ports and cruise line itineraries have been made in
addition to new color photography throughout and a revised cover and pullout
map. The ISBN is: 978-0-9809573-1-0 and also retails for $21.95.
The Fourth Edition of Mediterranean By Cruise Ship has been updated with
expanded detail on shore excursions and pre and post options for cruisers.
The Mediterranean remains perhaps the most interesting of cruises from
the aspect of western history and culture and a cruise is the best way
to experience many of the world's most famous cities within a short period
of time. ISBN: 978-0-9688389-9-0 and retail is $21.95.
Caribbean By Cruise Ship's fifth edition was thorougly updated, and has
been used by Caribbean cruisers for over 10 years. All new color maps
and color photography throughout help readers make the most of their time
in the various ports of the world's most popular cruise destination. ISBN

Seattle Update: New Cruise Pier 91 for HAL, Princess
and RCI pax
Seattle has a new cruise pier located at the north end
of Elliott Bay near the Smith Cove Marina. Ample parking is available
at Republic Parking to the east of the cruise pier. For driving directions
(go to http://www.rpnw.com/seattle/cruise/). Passengers can book parking
spaces online and get further information at this site or go to the Port
of Seattle website at: http://www.portseattle.org/seaport/cruise/
Public transit to the pier at this time is not recommended
as the bus lets you at the top of the Magnolia Bridge where there is a
ramp that takes you down to the shuttle. A cab from downtown gets you
right to the terminal building.
The cruise facility itself, although new, seems to work
fairly well with minor bottlenecks at the baggage area by the elevators.
Arrive either half an hour early or near the end of embarkation and delays
will be minimal.
Contact us if you would like to share your experience
with Pier 91.
