The Moody Blues will set sail on their third fan cruise in February 2016, and they’ve invited some old friends and new special guests along for the ride.
The event, titled “The Moody Blues Cruise III,” is scheduled to depart from Miami on Feb. 26, embarking on a four-day, four-night journey that will take passengers to Key West and Great Stirrup Bay in the Bahamas. Previous Moody Blues Cruise performers the Zombies, the Orchestra, Ambrosia, Randy Hansen, and Mellow Yellow are booked for a return voyage, and have each committed to multiple sets and fan photo opportunities.
In addition, next year’s lineup includes three new Moody Blues Cruise arrivals: Christopher Cross, Renaissance, and Rare Earth are set to join the festivities for the first time.
According to the press release announcing “Moody Blues Cruise III,” the schedule of events also includes appearances by John Waite, the Ides of March, and Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, who will be bringing their tribute to their father, Ricky Nelson Remembered, on board. More artists will also reportedly be added in the weeks and months to come.
Ticket holders are promised a voyage full of “private concerts, Q&A sessions, Fan Jam and Karaoke Bar, special events and activities, while interacting with musical guests that influenced the music of the ’70s/’80s and beyond.” Vowing that the “Moody Blues Cruise III” is “not just a ‘concert cruise,’” the press release notes, “It is a fan experience celebrating years of incredible music by one of the world’s most beloved bands, the Moody Blues” as well as “a playground for the serious fan where music and luxury cruising hook up for a vacation of a lifetime.”
The cruise is taking place aboard NCL’s Pearl. This Jewel Class ship has been designed specifically for the concert cruise market.
